WTF Nice Day = Car Breaks
Ok, im getting sick of this, this is 4 out of 4 times
i have had my car not a month and seicen then we have had 4 NICE days, and on EveryONE of them SOMETHIGN HAS BROKEN
i thought i got though today, i wansnt mean, all fluids are good, thers plenty of collent, it has a new water pump, new radiaor, new thermostast, and guess what, its over heating AGAIN
never runs over half, and if it does.. just a needles with, well, i started it up.. let it warm, 2 min later get in 3/4 and climbing, WTF let it cool down, start it up.. half.. . 2/3 ... 3/4 ok, this is horrible
My mecanic says tehrs lots of pressure in my coolent system, like thers a massive buble of air, could that be my problem? do i just need to perge this air?
please, im sick of every nice day having to spend 100-400 dolloars
Oh yeah, one more thing, is there anythign electric in the entire cooling system besides the sender for the thermostate, i doint have a electric fan

Make sure there is no air in it... pop open the air bleeder screw on top of the radiator... and fill the filler neck until coolant comes out of the air bleeder screw.. Once coolant comes out of it then plug it back up and fill to top of the neck.. Turn on car and let it idle for a bit... and keep filling the coolant neck as needed... should get any air out of it
yeah when you fill the coolant system i always fill it up from the metal cap, i don't use the resivoir. i bet you just have a lot of air in there, the only way i have ever done this (is is pretty dangerous) is get a towel, and when the car is at normal running temp, to take the cap off. all the air will be force to the top of the cooling system and that is the highest point, all the air will then purge out of the system, when you get done opening the cap, and if you have a lot of air in the tube, fill it up with coolant.
there is also a plastic screw on top of the radiator right niext to where the hose goes in, i think you need to unscrew this in order to fill it up properly.

It sounds like one of your water seals is gone. Does it loose any coolent internally? The water seal may be only gone enough to allow the cooling system to pressurize from the combustion chamber, but not allow any coolent to get out (this would explain the massive air bubble). If the coolents seals are gone, it's time for a rebuild.
What do you think ReTed? how about you Hailers?

Naw, it doesnt loose coolent, the guy i bought it from had the water pump and radiaotr replaced and the thing that holds the hose onto the end of the termostat houesing was on so that you couldnt tighten the cap, and my mechanic said then that thers problably lots of pressure in my system cus it was trlying to pump air, it doesent seem to be loosing coolent
do it this way it is easier
that is the right way to do it

How long ago was the coolant drained?
Try bleeding the cooling system. The air bleed is on the passenger side of the rad. Since the rad was replaced it might just have a rad cap on it... do the same thing as you would with the air bleed. Fill the thermostat housing with coolant untill it runs out the lower cap(rad) and then put the lower cap back on and fill to capacity.
If that doesn't work;
I'd take off the theromstat housing and punch a small hole in the thermostats flange, then install it with the hole at the top. This will allow air to escape from behind it and therefore allowing you to fill the engine all the way. It could be that you are only filling the rad, not the engige
Think if it this way; turn a can upside down and push it under water. No water goes in the can .. Poke a hole in the top of the can and the water will fill the can up
.
When you fill the car cold, ther stat is closed, only way for coolant to enter the engine is to go through the bottom hose. So if your stat doesn't have a hole in it, this could be your problem

hrm ill give that a try, im goign out early tommorow ne ways, the threashold of my front door rotted and is now in my basemtn, so while im out ill get all proper fluids
ok u provably allready tryed this but just for double cheking sake did you check to see if you installed the o ring that goes between the radiator and the filler cap??
i had that happen to me once i checked for it and sure enought i had lost it when i installed the radiator causing some minor spillage that i couldnt nitice due to the water evaporating fast
