Writeup for removing UIM?

I think its nearing the time to replace my injectors/grommets. What gaskets do I need to get from the dealer? which grommets? Is there a write-up for removing the UIM?

Thank you!

removing the UIM is easy.

you will need the UIM-LIM gasket and the upper and lower grommets and possibly the injector O-rings

if your going to take the TB off the UIM then you will need that gasget aswell

if your sending your injectors out to be cleaned they will most likly come back with new o rings on them

i would get what stuff you need from mazdatrix.com the gasget you need is $3.xx and the gormmets are $2 a piece

i would also get some gasket sealer mazdatrix sells some really good stuff under the missilanious part of the site

That will will help you get the UIM off. Are you sending the injectors to someone to get them cleaned or are you just gonna replace the grommets and o-rings? If you want to get them cleaned, I recommend www.cruzinperformance.com They do injector cleaning, balancing, blueprinting, along with new pintle caps, o-rings, and grommets for $11 per injector.

I'd get the UIM to LIM gasket just incase yours breaks upon removal. Do not use gasket sealer when reinstalling the UIM-LIM gasket. Also, put a bit of engine oil on the injector o-rings upon re-installation.

There is not TB-UIM gasket unless he's referring to the black spacer, which can be used over and over as long as it is in proper condition.

Look over your vac lines while you're in there, some may be broken, especially the ones for the oil injector spider.

I put a bit of white lithium grease on my new UIM gasket when I put it all back together (s4) so it would come apart easy next time (to reuse gasket).

Dont let anyone tell you different.. That 90 degree hose under the TB IS A BITCH CRAP GRRR PIECE OFf... err.. I mean, its very hard to get off. If your going to do the TB mod, just cut the sucker!

No reason to remove the TB to just replace injector grommets..that'd be a complete waste of time. And I'm with Drox, a gasket for the TB? New to me...
