Well long story short is ive pulled my dash to make wiring easier, and Damn is that bastard heavy, anyone got some ideas on how to lighten it? is there some way to get the metal off it? would doing so compermise the integraity of the dash under daily use?

im sortof compulsive at this weight reduction thing, im thinking of pulling my heat... and it DOES get cold here

There's a really big cross-member go across the whole thing.&nbsp It's there for a reason...it's for your safety, so I would not recommend trying to lighten it.

If it's your daily driver, I think the dash itself (along with the crossmember) helps with extra safety. I'd leave it.
