Who would win?

Civic Sedan 2 door VS 87 T2 stock, except panel K&N.

Civic has 191 HP and 165 TQ @ Crank

Civic is turbo and weights 2500 lbs.

Give opinions on a race from a start. and then from a 60 MPH roll

How's the compression on the TII? I'd say it has a lot to do with the driver/tires/road conditions, since the vehicles are closely matched as far as weight and power.

The compression is good, maybe a bit low, but by no means bad.

what amount of power, would a panel filter add?

5- 10 ?????

With a stock exhaust, an upgraded filter will add 5 hp at most...have the RX-7 driver practice launching, and the race from a stop is his.

From a roll, depending on the model of the Civic (ie an Si) I say RX-7. But if it is a DOHC Civic......Good luck. Once again driver skill.

Here is the skinny on the Civic.

1.6 sohc, no vtec. pushing 6 to 7 psi.

Really wants to race from 40 to 60 mph roll.

I personally think he is going to get his Honda *** raped, badly.

Question:

How much more boost with the turbo push, by putting on a cone filter and straight pipe, no cats or muffler.

I want to be sure, we don't hit cutout.

You'd overboost for sure with no cats or mufflers...

well ****, how can I fix that?

Where do you guys get those piggy back fuel cut chips?

I checked Racing Beat and couldn't find it.

Can I use a manual boost controller and keep it down?

I assume I just bleed of vaccum from the wastegate?
Or totally bypass the solinoid?

hey guys those sohc honda turbos are no joke... they usually score about a 14.1-14.5 at around 6psi boost i mean thats not deadly fast but its still decently quick. Most sohc turbo'd hondas will give a rx7 t2 with intake and full exhuast a run for its money... esp. with the TMIC we have. race him as soon as you start your car and got it warm.... i notice ALOT of performance loss while driving my rx7 hard after about 3-4 mins. Now if its an SI you can just kiss your chance of winning goodbye those will easily score a mid high 13 in the 1/4 with low boost. I mean you guys make hondas out to be the goddamn slowest thing ever but there is some NA hondas out there runnin 13's and 12's with full interior. That would give a majority of us 2nd gens a run for our money. Im sorry but all this honda bashin gets on my nerves sometimes there a good platform if you like FWD and a light body. I mean there not the GREATEST choice out there. But still none the less some hondas DO deserve credit. i used to be into hondas BIG TIME. Even all my friends have hondas and there all faster than me sure i may have low compression on the front rotor but my god my friends b20vtec integra is no joke at all, his car is basically stock b16 head b20 block head milled 35 thousands 4-1 header 2.5 exhuast, intake and the crappy b16 cams and he walks 2000 z28 camaros by a few cars in 3rd. Hondas down in Cali usually no joke. Sorry i just had to vent im tired of bashing other cars....... call me a riceboy if you want but most of the hondas i see around here in corona would give alot of rx7's i know a good run at least.

I know you guys arent bashin in the this thread ive just bein seeing it alot on this fourm and it gets to me really quick.. Anywho i still love my rx7!!!

his car is 191hp 2500 lbs, yours is 182hp 2850lbs. you'd take him off the line, but he'd probbably win unless he sucks at shifting.

You can defeat the cut by adding an FCD, which you can find at www.rx7.com among other places.

An MBC won't keep the boost down...check Rico05's thread about boost creep to see why not.

Hard to tell. I'd like to think the T-II would win. I was with a friend when he raced a 2000 Civic EX that had a supercharger and NOS. The T-II we were in was an '88 with no cat, 10 psi of boost and an FCD. Even with NOS that Civic couldn't keep up. That Honda boy was a moron though because you could hear him pinging with the NOS. He didn't want to race off the line either. The funny thing is the faster we were going the worse we would pull on him. If you had no cats and an FCD with the boost at around 10psi you would absolutely kill him. Then tell him you spent less than 100 bucks to do it! That really pisses them off. I just say try it and see what happens. If you lose it will only happen once and you'll get him next time.

I don't believe that a non turbo Integra will walk a 2000 Z-28. My friends Z-28 has less than $150 in mods and runs mid 12's. Must have been an older LT-1 Z-28 with an automatic. They aren't all that but no way it will beat the 2000 LS-1 with a standard unless the guy just wasn't racing.

Doesn't a 'lude have 220? I don't hear about too many 'ludes dusting TIIs. I suppose a turbo would flatten out the power curve, but I'm not sure it would be as close as everyone is saying... Also, FWD kills some of his power advantage too.

hence why imo hondas 3rd gears are always strong. I raced my friends ITR he has a few mods from a 20mph it'll be dead even till we both hit 3rd he just dusts me he'll starts to " walk away "

okay, this is the game plan.

Just installed a A/F meter last night, car runs nice and rich @ 3/4 upwards on the stock guage.

We are going to install the Racing Beat 3.15" down pipe and have a custom side dump made.

We have order the FCD from Racing Beat.

I now have to find an adapter for the meter, I already have a cone filter.

Any ideas, where we are @ now, with who's going to win and what power are putting out now?

Watch the boost creep. DO you have a boost gauge? W/ the setup you are running, you WILL creep, and very easily toast your engine. Be careful, and dust his ***

What is this about a boost creep thread?

Is the wastegate too small or something?

Help me out, please, I don't want to toast the engine, I just want to roast a Honda.

How Odd No Damn Acceleration!!!!!!!!

Do you know what kind of turbo he has? I mean 191hp from the civic is no joke but he prolly only sees 160hp in most gears. Thats still as much as a stock TII and its lighter. If you get full exhaust and intake with a fcd, walbro fuel pump and s-afc u will smoke him though.
