Wow...this was interesting...

I bought a pretty large desk at staples, and had to leave my hatch open (tied down) with it sticking out a little to get it home.

I have 91/NA, straight thru exhaust. Holy crap its loud LOL I always knew they are louad, but yikes lol Sounded great tho

On a side note, gotta redo entire exhaust with emissions crap as I just moved to emissions testing area ::sad face::

Anyway if you wanna hear your exhaust, just pop hatch open and drive

Yeah, one time my hatch randomly popped open and I thought part of my exhaust had fallen off. And I agree, there are times I wish my car was quieter (sp) but I just love how it sounds at full throttle. I need to design something that switches to different mufflers like the new Z06 (and no im not talking about the exhaust dump pipe, thats just crazy on an NA)

Something bimodal? That would be wicked. Im thinking of making mine as quiet as i can. I dont care if i have a 20 horse power loss. I dont want ANYONE thinking im "just another ricer" or that i have any power. Theyll find out when i take off that its fast. I dont need to try and tell the whole world with my exhaust. You can make up 20 horse power somewhere along the line (though it does mean more money.)

Well the way the Z06 system works is that it has 4 tail pipes. 2 of them go through the mufflers and 2 have straight pipes that bypass them, which open up under full throttle. It sounds pretty badass. I'm not sure how you could do it on an rx-7, though, since bypassing muffler = crazy loud.

Speaking of annoyingly loud; does anyone else have HEINOUS rattles in their Rx7?

My dash, hatch, exhaust and short-shifter all rattle... And it's TERRIBLE now, because now it's cold outside and I can't just open the window to "drown out the noise"... I think I'm going to kill myself. Not only that, my windsheild whistles above 70mph, and since I put in my FMIC, now everything in the engine-bay vibrates too...

Oh yeah, and my exhaust is loud.

Yea...I hate that rattle ****. My dashboard rattles all the time.

I wish my car was quieter as a whole. The exhaust is super loud....good ol RB DP/presilencer and corksport single...

As Karack said, the sacrifices we make for more power...
