fuel pump has no power...

i have been trying to get my 1989 gtu running. it has been sitting in storage the past six years. so far:i drained the fuel and put in 8 gallons.
changed oil.
changed spark plugs.
tried to start. no go, used starting fluid... it would start and starve out. checked the fuel pump and it was a mess. totally gunked up. got a salvage pump. installed, still no gas. checked the new used pump no juice... it stirred and than nothing?
how can i check out the power? thanks!

The fuel pump only runs when the engine is cranking or running. There's a fuel pump test connector in the engine bay; it's a yellow 2-pin plug by the right strut tower. Jumper the plug with a paper clip or length of wire and the fuel pump will get power with the ignition switched on. Unscrew the fuel cap and listen at the filler; you should hear the pump running. Remove the jumper wire when you're done.

i haven't heard a thing from either pump. which makes me think there is a lack of juice at the pump.

I got an extra fuel pump that I know works...I'm in Cali, which means I'll have to UPS it to you...which cost money, but I'm willing to give it to you at no charge.

...pm me for delivery options...

The pump is audible for sure if the car is off.
