take extra coolant, oil, belts, duct tape, fix a flat, and hand tools. You could need them at any time. I drove my car to and from indianapolis and had no troubles.

I plan on taking a full craftsman socket set, screwdrivers, plugs, extra premix, a spare belt, a gross of vacuum caps, etc.. Any other suggestions? I may pick up a silencer so I dont go deaf after driving that far in 2 days..

I think we can all agree on what impreza2rx7 said.
-Socket set
-SparkPlugs
-Extra Premix
-Spare belt
-Premixed coolant in 2L bottle or jug
-2L jug of favorite engine oil
-Duct tape
-Haynes/FSM manuals (printed out in binder)
I think that covers it, put all this stuff in the two compartments behind the seats and your set.

Why don't you convince a friend, with a not-so-new car, to swap cars with you.
If you have a friend with something that gets better mileage, and is a little more road trip friendly that will save you and your TII some trouble.

Im moving there for 6 months, so I want my car with me. I wouldnt trust any of my friends with my TII anyway, they'd probably beat the **** out of it and forget to premix.

i was puttin 600+ miles a week on my n/a bfore i beat the tranny to death one day, ya should be all set for the ride. Just give her a good check over before ya leave, do a little tune up and youll be good to go

I just took my NA for 1200 miles in 3 days (4x 300 mile trips). Run with the windows up and the A/C on for better fuel economy, make sure the tires are inflated to rated pressure, keep it below 80, and fuel economy shouldn't be terrible. I was getting 25-27, which I was happy with.
And, yea, take spare parts. It's not a road trip in a '7 if you don't have to fix *something* along the way. A few months ago I was going up to MI, had some cooling problems, figured out that my fan was falling off (3 of 4 bolts had backed out - my fault for not double checking tightness). This last trip, I broke a chunk of an air vent and it fell into the speaker, so I had to pull the driver's speaker and remove the bit of plastic that was rattling around. Nothing major.

I know driving a 7 isn't an experience unless you're working on it on the highway, thats why I asked, lol.. Maybe I should have posted a poll..

Oh, yea, other lessons learned, either do fairly close to the speed limit, or make sure you can run well in excess of the speed limit (specifically, faster than the highway police cars used in the areas you'll be passing through).
