I really like the look of the Spirit R RX7 symbol
would it be too ricey if I put one on my 88 RX7
what do you guys think. If I got them I would
either put them in the stock decal position or
between the door glass and the hatch up on
the body. Lates Matt22

Unfortunately I also agree. Ilove the badge but it's out of place since there is no Spirit R or even type r for the FC. Now A-spec or something that is fair game (as long as you have something done to the car worthy of the name ).

A-spec or Efini, heck even Savannah (although that's nothing special) will work, but stay away from the Spirit R.

I have a chrome efini license plate frame. I was questioning even putting that on my car

However, efini badges are certainly nicer than rx7 ones.

yeah, putting a spirit R sticker would be just like putting a type R emblem on an 88 integra...too rice for me. The efini badges are nice, and worthy of being put on the car if there's something done to it.

Efini and Savannah stuff is completly fair game in my book. As is A-spec, but I'm not a chrome fan I just don't like shiny stuff much. That's koo though

I think "Spirit R" sounds stupid on any car, let alone an RX-7. If I owned one (and I'd love to) it'd be the first thing I took off! Admit it, you just like it because it's JDM...

Unfortunately that would be the epitimy (sp?) or rice.

i.e. putting a label on your car claiming it is something it is not.

SO basically Efini and Savannah decals are ok, even though it was something extra on JDM cars. I One person above stated that you could put a Efini badge on the car if there's something done to it. isn't that basically the same thing, cause its claiming something its not. Before starting this post I knew the reaction I would get for liking something and thinking about putting it on my car, even though I would never do it. lates Matt22

I do like what KiyoKix said though, " Unfortunately I also agree. I love the badge but it's out of place since there is no Spirit R or even type r for the FC. Now A-spec or something that is fair game (as long as you have something done to the car worthy of the name ).

His responce clearly explains his reasoning.

Thanks for the props there, but DON'T FORGET this is YOUR car and you shouldn't build it according to someone elses standards. As long as you enjoy the car it looks good, we might not like it...but we didn't put in on it either.

I'm sick of this argument. It is often hard to discern between quality and crap when an object is your own; food always tastes great when you cook it yourself. It is often sobering to get an outside opinion on the appearance of something, so that you can keep a realistic idea of how it actually appears.

The argument that you should be happy with how the car looks b/c it is yours is a little idealistic... Think about how society runs. Almost everything we do is based upon reflection of the opinions of others; the way we dress, how we eat, how we talk, and how we make our cars look.

Also, cars are one of the worst investments available. Save computers, almost nothing has a worse depreciation value. Merely driving a new car off of the lot immediately throws away 10% of the vehicles worth, save some extreme cases (such as a 2000 cobra R, limited production car). The appearance of a car greatly discerns its resale worth, and making a car look like rice detracts from its resale value.

While it would be nice to merely be happy with yourself, and your possessions, it is damn near impossible. We value the opinions of others too much for that to ever exist.

Spirit R is an FD, why would you even consider putting that on an FC? The badge must be nice, I'd just put it on display in my room or something.

The worst is when I see guys that work at GM raid the badge bin and do up their sunfire with decals and whatnot from cars not even in the same line.

Yeah, but that's because my car was actually sold on the Japanese Domestic Market, and lived most of it's life there. Not many here can claim that!
I stuck that there so people realise it isn't a conversion, but a genuine Turbo 'vert. I originally had "Jap-import" in my sig (because that's what Japanese imports are referred to over here) but then someone posted in the Lounge that the term "Jap" is offensive to some Japanese Americans, so I changed it just in case. Personally I detest the whole "JDM" trend unless it's actually a real upgrade or referring to the genuine article. Like mine.
Anybody got a better suggestion?
