won't stay on (i searched :()

maybe my search wasnt the best, but the past couple days iv been looking aroun don the forum. I do believe this is my first post, i didn't want to make it seem like i was newbie to rx-7s (im not too too much, but still just getting welcomed to the world) any way, im buying a t-2, 87 rx. my problem is, the guy says it overheats at idle, i go to turn it on, and it doesnt even stay on, it started and dies. i look at teh engien bay real quick, i saw that the hose from the intercooler to the tb was off. i hook it back up, car starts and dies. cant figure it out .. after pluggin random stuff in, and "jiggling" wires, it stays on, bur the rpms jump from 1500-2000 about 7 times, then just shuts off. any ideas what the problem can be? im def gonna do a rebuild soon, but i need the car SEMI driveable (drive it to my house, and a little more ) any ideas what could be going wrong ? any thing at all is needed ... thanks guys

crank the idle stop screw up a bit and see if it will stay running. my car was doing that a while back and i never figured ot out, it was like a "vroom drop vroom drop vroom drop" then i could turn the AC on and it would idle down to about 1200 and stay... never figure it out. but i'd crank up the idle stop screw and see if you can get it to stay running like that (that obviously wont FIX the problem, but may get you home) good luck my man.

sounds like a busted TPS... Try unplugging it and see what happens. Also check the intake piping for leaks as others have suggested.
