wont start

wont start

i have a 88 gxl and my friend tryed putting a sony xplode cd player in and maybe he cut some wires or something but now the car doesnt start . any1 have any ideas ? thanks

i checked all the fuses the main and everything . even changed them again . before my friend tryed putting the cd player in the car would start and now it just sounds like its not going to happen . it makes a wierd noise like it dont wanna start like it just keeps trying . im thinkin maybe its the starter or something .

Did you check the battery, I imagine with a new cd player you listened to it for a while with the car off, you could have just killed the battery.

did you run the car briefly before installing the deck? because if you did it's prolly just flooded

Maybe you should ask your friend what he/she did?

Could be tonnes of things. Does it turn? Does it spark? Fuel? Flooded?

i did check the battery and even tryed jumping it with my friends car but still nothing . i didnt start the car before putting it in and when he was done it wouldnt start . but what could be flooded? and it sounds like its spinning and not catching . because before when it started it had a different sound . now its just like spinning .

pull the plugs, if they are covered in fuel then it is flooded.

you may not be getting a spark.

Test spark with a spark tester, or pull the wire and hold it close to the shock tower while someone cranks (be careful not to get shocked).

Testing for fuel is easy. If your plugs are covered with fuel, then you're getting fuel...

i tryed that and they were all sparking . im going to try to push start it and lets see what happens but i think its gonna start . i just dont know why it dont start with the key . and like i said it turns and its like it wont catch or something.
