Exclamation woah nellie 15 lbs boost in 1st gear

I just put an AVC back-off plate on my 87turbo (full RB, K&N drop in) and I found the coupler b/w the turbo up-pipe and the metal piece (with a branch to the bac) to be a bit loose, the pipe was sloppy and I tightened it at both ends and the removed the slop, nice and tight now.

then since I pulled the ACV I had to re-route my boost sensor line and line to my VDO boost gauge. So I took the line from beneath the BAC (the one that goes to the BOV) and "Tee'd" in and ran a line to the boost sensor. Then I needed a line for the VDO boost gauge. I so took advantage of the vacant nipple on the line comming out of the back of my UIM (i hope you know what I mean, Ive heard it meantioned as an OKAY place to get a boost reading.

Okay, the story. I take it for a spin and I get on it w/o looking at my gauges and was like,"Woah, nellie" So I did it again and I look down and I am boosting like 15 lbs and would boosy more if I kept on it.

needless to say I have some tuning to do. Its 3AM here so not tonight. BTW I have a TurboXs MBC =, its gotta be that. I must have been letting to much air escape earlier and it was tuned for that. Make sence?

tommarro night I will play with the MBC and keep you posted. any other ideas what to look for?

Check your boost gauge!!! A friend of mine had a VDO in his talon and it read 7 psi, when he hooked up a spare autometer i had in the garage it read 10psi.

intresting thing. whan I hooked up the boost gauge to the back of the UIM it reads "0" until I am in the positive boost range. does anyone know what the deal with the vacume line coming out of the back of the IUM? also, do you think sharing the BOV vacume line with the boost sensor is a problem?
