Talking newbie on the block.. 90 TII

My friend and I flew to Ga. to pick up a '90 RX-7 TII Sunday.. So now i'm the resident newbie... I had my handle on the whole Honda motor and then threw a loop in and sold the Si for a TII.

no harrassment about the exhaust.. That's what came on the car I think the guy stole some fence poles from a chain link fence and threw the sweet Tsudo mufflers onto it.. nassty.. and little like 1.5" if that I'ld say.. Something to be replaced.. for now It's been just tuning it up and flushing fluids to make it a happy Mazda again.

That's my old car.. and I do miss it to

So.. I'll be the one asking the stupid questions and lurking and reading trying to gain knowledge of the funky motor under the hood of my car

Welcome!!!

What ever happens, don't overheat the engine, don't crank the boost without proper fuel\knowledge and change the fluids every 3k miles at least.

Ask lots of questions (search or some people will give crap), and most impostant....ENJOY!!!

The search function is good... been used already a few times trying to make sure i'm doing things right. It's a fun car so far.. i can only imagine what some coilovers and strut bars will do for it. Gotta save some more $$ for my JIC FLT-A2's

Eh.. that's a tough one.. I miss the reliability no worry turn key of my honda. I don't miss being one of 800 identical Si's even when i tried to make it look different. It did handle better than the 7.. but the 7 is stock.. I had neuspeed suspension with JIC bars on my Si and the thing hugged the corners. I know with JIC's in the 7 it'll be an unreal car to drive in the twisties. Also the fact the 7 stock out of the box would beat my Si with boltons is always fun I guess with time I won't miss my Si as much but until I can start playing with the suspension i'll miss it. Just as long as the 7 is ready by Spring for some AARRF road racing I'll be a happy kid.

Thanks for the comments on my stock T2 with ghetto gay exhaust

-eric.

I have to ask, Why did you want an RX7 anyway? The "funky motor" is what intregues most. What for you?

Very nice car. I will just say that IMOP your TII is 10 times the car you had. Not even comparable!!!! Put a 60-1 and a Haltech on there and watch the new Vettes float behind

Good luck

Why I sold my Si for a 7.. hrmm seemed like all my friends were slowly transisting away from FF and going with RWD. A few Hachi Roku's and alot of S13/S14's. I guess the new trend is to get a 240 and for that reason I looked for an alternative. The whole sound of the rotary motor is what drew me to it something about that exhaust note clinched it. Its the only car that I wanted to replace my Si with.. I started looking for a 7 about a month ago and the one I really wanted had a sale pending on it which i'll add 2 days after I bought my T2 he emailed me saying his buyer flaked. ah well I'm happy.. and it's alot of fun so far.. Just fixing the little things that are wrong with it right now have kept me busy and enjoying the car.
