Wiring Electronic Boost Gauge: Question

Ok,
I have an HKS electronic boost gauge (the black and orange oldschool one) and I am not really sure what wires to tap into for some of them.

I got a paper that says which is which, heres what it is:

There are four wires coming out of the back:
Black - Ground **
Yellow - Illumination (ashtray bulb)
Orange - Constant **
Red - Ignition **

there are three other wires, but they are all for the sender, so that is not a problem.

Does anyone know where I can tap the ground, constant, and ignition?

thanks,
Ben

Ground on any ground bolt in the car.

Ignition and constant can be picked up from the ignition switch (don't forget to fuse your wires).

illumination can be found at the light switch, red/green for a dimable wire (if you want the gauge light to dim as you adjust the dimmer on the dash lights), or red/black for non-dimming parking light wire.

i like the cigarette lighter, its got all the connections you need (except the constant +), and its pretty unimportant electrically if you blow the fure or something

Uh... climate control, mirror control, warning control and clock are all on that circuit as well.

Well I have the cigarette lighter and climate control removed, so it shouldn't be a problem right? Where exactly are the wires to the ignition switch. Do you mean just behind where the key goes in? What color is what for the ignition and constant? And by fuse you mean solder them right? Sorry, I am a little electronically stupid.

TIA,
Ben

By fuse he means that you buy an inline fuse at radio shack and put it between the wires you hook up, so in case you **** something up you wont melt all your ignition wires . But yes you should solder all connections, those vampire taps suck! Sorry can't help you on the wire colors.

Why would you need a constant for the Orange Wire? Do you mean 12v Ign?

I have my HKS EVC Instructions out and It doesn't make any mention of constant 12v.

On the paper provided (handwritten) it says:

Orange - constant

on the back of the gauge, where the orange wire connects, it says "+B". Thats all i know, im not sure if it needs 12v constant or what.

As well as the dome light and the little light by the ignition that reminds you where to put the key in

two things.

1. hks is imposible to get a hold to, and their website sucks!

2. look at egauges.com because they have a bunch of manuals to differant gauges. Prolly not for hks but an electric boost gauge is an electric boost gauge.

Well i just got my vdo temp gauge from e-gauges today, and it has directions for their pressure gauges too. They are pretty different in terms of wiring from my hks.
I am going to try to figure out the constant stuff still. Till then, anyone know which ignition wires i need to tap. I will have to get out my haynes manual and see if there is a diagram..
