wired open ports

i have been having problems with my 5th an 6th ports workin. i decided to just wire them open with some zip ties around the actuators to hold them open. i definitely notice my top end power is back at around 5500 rpm. i was kind of dissapointed for i thought i would feel that power increase at around 4000 rpm. is this normal, or is there a better way to wire them open? i know that it's better to just fix them but i'm just experimenting.

wiring open is wiring open. When they are wired open, you don't get the advantage of suddenly changing the port timing as the car goes through the RPMs

its a good idea to have them electronicly open or return them to stock if you have an s4 with stock exhaust

i do have an s4 but i have full racing beat exhaust with the presilencer and no air pump. when they were not wired open, they never opened even after i cleaned them and made sure that they moved freely. i figured this was my only option to make them work.

Did you hook it up with the split air pipe? Because I have the RB presilencer and mine worked.

Answering the QUESTION, yes, feeling the "hit" around 5000-5500 RPM is about right. I have my ports on a switch right now (the RPM switch is sitting in my room), and there's a big difference below 3000 RPM, and above 5000 RPM or so. Between 3000 & 5000 RPM, there's no significant difference (in power or WOT airflow % on the SAFC).

The split air pipe looks like this:

The green circle is the hose that connects to the pipe that operates the aux ports.
You hook it up to the RB presilencer at the blue circle. The red circle hooks up to the back of the engine at the red circle here:
