Question Windshield Wipers and Antenna problem

I recently purchased an '88 GTU Rx-7.
Everything runs fine, but the fastest speed and the intermitant speeds on the windshield wipers don't work. And the radio antenna won't go down when the cars shut off. Not that this is a huge problem, but I was curious on how I can fix this and where I can get the parts.

Oh yeah, I new to the Club.

well..Welcome to the Rx7 Club, first of all!..your Wiper switch is Most likely Dirty..and would have to be "attended to"..either buy Rebuilding it or Replacing it..the switch is a Little "finicky"due to it's small components on the Inside.so Just save yourself the Hassle and get another one..(www.mazdamark.com the Guys's name is ICEMARK.He is a Genius at this stuff.)get the Correct SERIES switch..as the wiring changes with Models. The antenna?Well the damn things always Seem to go!..and with Aftermarket Decks and MP3's who really Needs a "whip' on the back of the Car!..But if you really want one, check out the Sec Gen Parts For Sale Section here on forum..get one used..the Dealer Part will cost you Mega Bucks..Good luck to you..STYX.

Dave's got the idea......but to further nix the plan of a new antenna from the dealer - last i checked - they are discontinued You *could* try rigging up an aftermarket power antenna - however I usually just adapt a fixed one on there.

My battery is in my right bin so I don't have a lot of room for CD's

If you have a diversity antenna, you can always use that. Get a male-to-male antenna wire adapter and plug both ends into the female diversity antenna plug and the female radio plug.

Thanks for all the feedback. Im not really worried about the antenna, I'll probably just remove it or lower it permanently cause I use my iPod and FM tuner for music anyway.

i know the motor and assembly for the power antenna is the same as on the early 90's saab 9000. You need to swap the mazda relay box onto it, but it works fine. Im sure you could also find it in a lot of other cars of the period
