Windshield: Prices?

Has anybody ever had to get a replacement windshield? How much did it cost with the installation and removal of the old one?

Most insurance companies will cover this sorta stuff as it is a "safety concern" I'd call up your insurance people and ask them.

I had to replace one on my project FC, which at the time did not had full coverage. Insurance did not cover it, because well there was no full coverage on it LOL.

On any case, I called around; most places don't carry the shield becuase its an old car; and the ones who do have it want an arm and a leg ($600). I ended up finding a place that replaced the windshiled for $300, I told them were the the car was parked and they came over.

The more you call around the cheaper it will get cause they will match/beat prices. At least they did for me. I started out heraing almost $300 but I ended up paying $180.
