windshield leak advice?

my 87 NA leaks a lot of water into the passenger side footwell during heavy rain. I'm assuming it's coming from a bad seal around the windshield. has anyone else encountered this ... and any advice on how to fix it?

Thanks.

call glass doctor to fix you paynes. They can do seals as well I think.

Last leek I had on my 929, I cut the inner door plastic film to fit a speaker. Of course heavy rain makes it past the exterior molding, through the speaker cut, and into the floorboard.

You might also check the sunroof. There's got to be a drain somewhere I would think. Could be clogged.

Check the door seal where it meets the metal trim at the top corner of the windsheild - there is a spot where it comes away from the metal and allows water from the roof to run down the inside of the door pillar.

thank you, ianbell, for the most excellent tip. I checked the trim as you suggested and there is a gap, exactly as described. You can even see where somebody else had previously caulked it and the caulk has worn out. Soi I've now patched it again. Problem was only on the passenger side, where the leak was, not the driver's side.

Thanks for all the other suggestions, also.
