im going to cry
well, after getting the afm problem fixed and the car running. after a weeks worth of on and off work, in the cold cold nights, after tons of brusies and cuts. i removed and put in a newer turbo.
i then had the afm problem above and something im still not sure of, a leak around the turbo manifold. i had to recover from all that work last week, and starting removing everything again today. bac, acv, airpump, sap, pre-cat. got the 3 bolts off the turbo to manifold and the one on the right side the hard one everyone is always talking about is stripped!!! i yelled F*ck and threw the wrench in my garage.
so i decided to take off the whole manifold....when i found that my switching acuator laying on the cross member....****!!! well theres my loud obnoxious "exhaust leak". i forgot to bolt the bracket on the first time. i was so pissed. luckily all the hard stuff is off, but i cant find my 10mm wrench hehe. one after another **** is going wrong. im going crazy.
i packed up my tools and shut the garage for the night...need to cool down and drink some caffiene.
if anyone wants to help me out im in oregon. i could use an extra laborer

sounds like my luck
pulled the turbo and when i reinstalled had a leaking oil in line, took the line back off made a new gasket out of a head gasket, put the line back on, but forgot to go back and tighten the b-nut after torqueing down the two bolts on the turbo. Started car up for leak checks and in a matter of seconds, pump all the oil out of the car, luckily there was about a half quart left in the motor, didn't screw anything up, but could have. Good luck tomorrow.
Man, if I was in Oregon id be there helpin your ***. Too bad im in Missouri. Ive had my turbo off and on like 5 times since I got the car in March. I can do that **** in 1 hour. All you need to remove is the: TID, downpipe, airbox, and Airpump. I didnt take off the BAC or the ACV. Nor did I drain the coolant, I just stuck a fluid catcher under the turbo. You can manuever it out, toward the airbox .
it took me like 45 min
taking the **** off is easy. i just ran into a stripped bolt
stress
fawking ****

went on when i had the turbo off
i had the pre cat on when i took the turbo offthe first time, had to cut thatbottom inboard nut off with a dremmel. that sucked. You can also pull the manifold and turbo as a unit without pulling the bac, already had acv and airpump gone. I'm not a very patient person.
Hey, I live out by Hillsboro, only about 30 minutes away from ya. I might be able to give ya a hand if you want this weekend. I don't know much about T2's, but I'm pretty handy with my NA.
