inb4 needs to be lowered. Can't lower it here. I've already hit the front license plate a few times and like 50% of our streets have construction atm.
My FC is black and it came from the previous owner with a similar level of aftermarket tint. It did look kinda cool, but I decided it made it too hard to see when driving at night. I thought it really compromised night vision, so I removed it all. For that reason, I don't think I'd tint my windows again.
Tint is so worth it to lower interior temps - combine it with a windshield sunscreen when parked. I think a 20% tint is dark - I went with 30% on my front side glass, 20% on the hatch - did it 14 years ago, shortly after getting my FC, and have done it on every other car I've had since. Darker than 20% really does make backing up, etc hazardous anywhere there isn't bright lighting. Going with a lighter front side glass tint seems to keep the cops happy too, as I've never been stopped or hassled, except on one car where I went with the 20% all-round. I also found the 20% on the front side windows could make driving in unlit areas at night a bit challenging too, even though I am in fact light sensitive (always wear sunglasses during the day, and can drive without headlights in unlit areas on all but the darkest nights - I don't, but can

5% on the rear hatch and 15% on side windows. The next step would be 35% which is legal here and he showed me a company truck with 35% and it wasn't dark enough for my liking. My old car had the same thing, 5% rear windows and quarters and 15% windows. I never hit anything and have driven the car in winters and everything, where it gets ready dark and very difficult to see anything in a snow storm.
I always wear sunglasses too. When I'm wearing my glasses I have no problem seeing through my tint during the day. I obviously do not wear them at night, so I don't see it being a problem. As I said above, I've had a car for 3 years and for 1 of those years I had the dark tint and never hit anything or had that hard of a time. :P
