Window switch
Hi, the buttons on my drivers side window switch is broken, and I would like to replace it, my question is do i pull the whole thing out, unplug the wire and just put the new one it? -Thx

Yes, carefully pull the switch out and there is simply a few inches of wires before they terminate into a plug which plugs into the door harness.
S5 switches generally do not hold up very well, S4 switches are a plug and play swap if finding a suitable S5 switch isn't an option. You may wish to look into adding relays to the power windows to prolong switch life. Here is one thread on that topic:

When my switch "failed," I took it apart and found the contacts simply dirty. There are ball bearings that move along a circuit board inside. It was a pain to get it back together, but it worked and the switch continues to operate well.
Also, given the delicacy of the components inside, I'd be surprised if it didn't just control a relay network already. I haven't looked at diagrams, though.
