No, its the switch thats ON your door or door armrest.
Just be gentle with the switch when messing with it, it can break and replacements can be hard to find.
When I first took mine apart I had some black gunk in between the contacts. When you take it apart make sure you look how it goes back together.

Like you I had to remove panel, clean the center track, lube it and it helped a lot. However, it still became slow going up about 1/2 way. It went down fine. Was pissed and confused. RPMs dropped during the slow/stuck phase so I knew the motor was OK but drawing a lot of wasted juice.
Then I remembered an auto glass installers trick. I sprayed some silicone lube into the window groves particularly the back grove. And guess what, it now works fine.
Logic.. these cars are over 15 years old. How many of those years have been spent driving with the windows down? Road grime, dust, and dirt have accumulated in the groves especially the rear one. Dirt narrows the width of the grove equals increased friction equals slow/stuck window. The silicone lubes it up.
Once my theory was proved, I took the almighty Q tip with soapy water and cleaned the groves and geeze the crap that came out. Let it dry, re-lubed with silicone and now works perfect.
Worth a try?

i was trying to fix the exact same thing today ,, i have the same exact syptoms .. i greased everything .. its goes down great,, but going up is not too bad ,, but it does have a pause. it got a little better with the grease.
I was experiencing the same issue, having to pull the windo up the last 2 inches. I just got the car back from the crash shop (moan), and it turned out they had splashed the Bailey channel with primer making it all hard. I got it replaced and it's as good as new (motor is still a bit sluggish, but it 17 years old). These channels will perish over time.
