... grind it to match the ports? Has anyone done it?

It can physically bolt on. The problem is that you need to grind way too much on the outer ports to make it work. The auxillary port holes are so far up in relation to the T-II stock ports that there would be terrible flow through there assuming of course you could get them to line up. The big reason behind this is that the T-II manifold turns very sharply from the factory. When you grind the top larger to accomodate the n/a ports you have now decreased the short turn radius inside the port and made the air have to nearly turn a right angle. Airflow through here will be absolutely horrid. I would just stick with an n/a manifold or build a custom one if you need the room for a turbo.

I wonder how much boost you can get if you just bolt the TII manifold without grinding the port.

It would still get terrible flow through the upper port. Mazdatrix did bolt on a Camden supercharger with a 4-port manifold to a 6 port engine. They said it worked OK but its hard to tell since they didn't have one that was done properly to compare it to.

so basically, it will work and bolt on just fine but with a lesser performance.

Ok thanks. I think I am ready for my turbo conversion project. I just needed to find a way where to connect the oil pipes from the turbo.

I think I would use the 6 port manifold and weld up/grid off the mounting for the 6 port actuators and the mechanism.

That would be the best thing to do.

There are 2 actuators on the 6-port lower manifold that control the actuators. Take these off, plug the holes. Just go stare at one. You'll see it.

I know where the 6-port actuators are, but is this where the turbo is hitting?

You are putting a turbo on a 6 port engine? If so the turbo will probably hit the actuators, and the manifold itself if you are just bolting on a stock turbo. All emissions devices on the lower manifold must be removed as well.
