Yo,

Probably. Usually the best flames are when you rev to high RPM (8000+) and lift. I've gotten good flames after a long rail session where the whole exhaust system gets super hot and just normal high RPM upshifting. And I've got a dual!

You should do fine. Your car is gonna be LOUD though with a single N1 and a header. I'm sure ya know that!

The grannies around here pull off the road and open their hood or check their tires

The cops think it's cool. (It's also a plus to know a bunch of them too)

The pic below is stock manifold, straight 2 3/4 downpipe to a single N1.

Doing a 3-4 shift on the interstate at 7000+ usually results in a flame/flash large enough that it lights up the ground outside the *driver's* door.

Nice flame Sledgehammer, shooting fire is just one of the many things that makes these cars so great. Good luck with your flame shooter Rico!

Yo,

Yep, I love throwing flames/backfiring. It's the RX-7's signature move!

Let's say there's a guy clogging the fast lane, you KNOW when I'm gonna shift from 3rd to 4th. Yep, his passenger door. BLAM!

Bwahahaha!

if you really want some flames, do the old spark plugs in the exhuast trick, talking about flames all the time to keep those tail gaters a way hehe

You will definately shoot flames, but I have also heard that having a presilencer diminishes the size of the flames. But still, don't get me wrong, you will definately be throwing some sweet flames.

Which would diminish the flames more, a cat or a presilencer? Cause I wanna shoot flames from my GXL once I get the racing beat header and borla mufflers but I'm not sure whether to get a racing downpipe with a presilencer or just a downpipe with a highflow cat. I love Florida, no damn emissions laws.

A cat definately. When I first installed my N1, it was shooting pretty good flames with a Bonez race pipe. I'd stay away from cats and headers. Cats will kill the flames and headers sound raunchy. But, that's just my opinion.

Well my GXL has a broken stud on the exhaust manifold so I can either buy a used one, or buy a header. Header for me! I figure all these damn Hondas get away with being loud, so I'm gonna be LOUDER!!!

your flames should be sweet!!!!!

however...i learned the hard way having a super loud car isnt always great. i got pulled over and almost had to get rid of my entire $450 exhaust system. i did get out of the ticket but be careful.

Heh, my dad did a spark plug job on our '63 Impala SS. Just slap some model A coils in there and a toggle switch and you're good to go. We just pull out the manual choke so the car idles as rich as it can before stalling, and it will shoot a constant flame about 5-7 feet out.

I had a RB header with a cat and a borla rear section. It shot some pretty nasty flames...not flames really...looked more like a propane torch kinda flame. If you wanna make your car spit flames gradually rev it up to about 6k than whack it till the buzzer and let off quick. Thats how I found out my car even did it. Then you can learn how to do it while your shiftin'....nuttin like spittin fire at a civic.."Dude, what you got in dat thing"....its a triangle....you wouldnt understand rice boy.

Hey guyz! I just had my 3" RB downpipe installed and also I had the guy at Meineke make me a 3" midpipe and guess what?? Damn, it's loud!!! Also, I was running about 5.5psi before the installation with just the 3" single catback and when I tried to run it after the DP and MP were installed, it went up to around 9.5psi.. Was that accurate?? It's a bit cold outside here in Northern Jerzee. Oh well, I'm so happy I'm done w/ my exhaust system..(for now, anywayz)
Ok, just wanted to let you know!

Be careful you don't run lean/boost creep or you'll pop your engine.

Have you done any fuel system mods before you did your exhaust??
