Im getting a new pipe from the manifold to the y pipe, i need to know if blocking off that thing that pumps air into the cat will cause any problems and how to correct them.
added * i will not have a cat after that new pipe *

If its the long metal pipe that goes to the airpump, I don't think it should be blocked off, cuz you will need to let the air that is pumped through it go somewhere.
And I hope you are going to wear ear plugs if you are going to have a header striaght back to a CS exhaust.

you will not have any bad efects but you need to go to home depot and build a 5th and 6th port actuator. talk to nillahcaz about it he built one for his car.

Now an answer that's correct: Don't plug that pipe. Air needs to exist from the air pump at certain RPMs and loads. You will either have to leave it open under the car, cut it just after the check valve and install a small fitler or muffler.

sounds like a good idea to me, i guess i could just make a bracket and mount it up to my heatsheild bolts, that should work good sence its already there. and after tearing the left side of my engine down, now i see exactly why people perfer s4's for tunning lmao....
whoever the hell can figure out what the hell that little round thing with like a half circle sticking down into the engine under the acv is for, deserves a medal lmao...

I recently put an RB header/pre-silencer setup on my 88
the air pump can be used to open the 5&6 th ports but the air pipe also helps back pressure with the exhaust back pressure. The air pump has very little drag on the motor. but to get the pressures right you'll have to dump some of the air (makes a really strange noise),but with the dump port pointed down in the engine bay, it isn't that noticable, and the ports open at 3800 rpm every time. I built mine using simple 3/4 and 1/2" copper plumbing parts and silver solder for stength.
