Will Haltech help an N/A
I have an n/a 88 gxl and Ive found a Haltech unit for sale and Im wondering if it would even be worth buying. Does it help HP or is it just a way to be able to have control of your fuel input and ignition? How much is a new E6k haltech unit? Do any of you have this system and do you like it?
Thanks again guys

To answer the original question, Yes they do help. Mainly by getting rid of the AFM and allowing you to tune your engine without concern for emissions. Do search for haltech and N/A. I did it but couldn't get to the page for some reason. Its right here in the 2nd gen section.

It would help, you would have complete control over fuel & timming. You could remove your afm which would get you a bit more power.
Unless you have a ported motor, the gains wouldn't be that great. but there would still be some nice gains if you can get the haltech cheap enough, i say do it.

The bang for the buck really isn't there, unless you're getting a REALLY good deal on the Haltech. Also, depends on what Haltech - don't go with anything less than an E6K, *maybe* an E6S. The older E6A and F-series aren't worth the time.
Back to bang for the buck - yes, you can probably pick up some power, but not a LOT of power - probably 5-10hp. The Haltech would be a better complement for an extreme setup - bridgeport, for example.
You can probably get 80% of the horsepower value of a Haltech on a mild NA with a Super-AFC, which is a LOT cheaper and a LOT easier to install.
