Will the einge run if its blown??
I did post the lower thread and I will used a pressure gauge this Wednesday but would the engine run smooth and not smoke if its blown or will it still act normal with bad apex seals? Mine does not smoke and runs smooth, just getting a little freaked out.

This (hard start) only happens after it has been sitting for a while, it will fire up fine when its warm but overnight or a long day of work I have to hit the fuel pump witch a few times and crank for a while.

If one rotor was blown it would sound like you were running on one rotor and the other was just dead weight spinning around. The reason I suggested a compression test was because a low compression motor(high mileage) would flood easier. I still think it's a leaky injector issue.

I will let the fuel pump run a little longer before starting the engine so I can build up the pressure and see if that works, its been re-built and has maybe 8K on it I will also clean the injectors as a precaution.
Thanks

well if it hot starts good then i dont think that it is a compression issue. mabey your regulator or something else in the fuel system is letting all the fuel return back to the tank and in the morning it takes the pump a while to fill the system. i have had a bad fuel pump let fuel go back into the tank after it sitting a while.

A hard start when the engine is cold but no problem when the engine is hot, indicated the water thermo sensor on the back of the water pump housing is off the sensor or one of it's contacts inside the plug is pushed back. Go look at it.
Another thing that can cause the problem is if someone has bypassed the stock starter wiring and installed a seperate switch to start the car. IF you do that, then you lose the start signal to the ECU, which in turn tells the ECU to use the afm for fuel during start instead of the internal Start map (in the ECU).
The jpg attached shows what is involved in starting a RX.
The fuel pump takes less than two seconds to pressurize the rails to 39psi. Less than two seconds. Much less.

I have wired the fuel pump on a separate switch power wire from the battery to a fused link switch to the pump in the truck, could this be causing the problem?
Thanks
