Check out what I made earlier today for my T2... can anybody guess what it's made out of it?

It's made out of wood with a sheet of black leather wrapped around it. I neglected to take photos of the construction process but it was fairly easy to do. It just required a jigsaw, grinding stones, and some hand files to make the two cut-out squares for the three gauges. From there, I cut the leather w/ an exacto knife on a cutting board (leaving enough leather to wrap around the edges to make the gauge pod appear "natural") and then cut "x" patterns in the centers of the two cut-outs for the gauges. Glue holds the leather on to the wood. Total cost was about $10 with the leather being about $8 of that. Pretty easy and fun. Made me feel like I was in middle school art class.

You'd have to have a good reason for running 9 additional gauges in your cockpit. I do. I'm a data and numbers freak. Plus, I use my car as an experimental test-bed for some of the things that eventually work their way down to customer cars.
