why when you do a turbo II tranny swap.

do you need the alternator and starter from the turbo II car also?

Alternators are the same for turbo versus non-turbo - just keep the series the same.
You might need to change the battery lead stud - it's just a matter of removing a nut, repositioning the mount on the splines, and then tighten the nut back up.
No biggie...

You NEED the starter, cause that's what mounts on the turbo transmission.
You also need a turbo flywheel...

Is there anything u gain from doing a turbo II tranny swap on a n/a car? I heard that the gear ratio is higher in the n/a trannys so u can get better gas mileage on highways. Anything else?

RETed: alright thanks for that man. but i have an s4 tranny im putting in a s5 vert.
so that means i have to still use the s4 starter right?

fonzi581: the gear ratio is higher, but im also doing it because im swaping a turbo II engine in it soon.

All turbo starters are the same - no matter S4 or S5.
In fact, you can use a non-turbo automatic trans starter if you have one...

Yep, thats what I have in my car. Supposedly the Auto starter is a bit more beefy too.

FYI, if you can find a stock 3rd gen flywheel you can use that.

That is ONLY if you have a S5 engine.

If you have a S4 and use the FD flywheel, get ready for MAD Vibration since it will be out of balance.

Counterweights / flywheels are matched to engine (rotors).

If you have an S5 engine, then you can use the FD flywheel - yes.

ok. so i have just been thinking all i need is the clutch, flywheel, pressure plate, pedals and clutch lines to finish my swap.
but now im not sure.

so if you guys can help me out then please do.
i bought a 88 TII transmission.

and i am swapping it on to my AUTOMATIC vert, i have the whole 88 TII rear end also.

but teh transmission didnt have anything on it. I.E the flywheel, clutch, pressure plate etc.

but now i heard i need a pilot bearing and some other nuts and things.

so what all do i need so i can finish my swap and not f@#k anything up.

dont give me **** for this post too.
