Why Is N/A SO BAD????

I love n/a! No turbo lag, no worries bout detonation and knocking, no worrying about a rebuild every other week. We are lighter, cheaper, and more of a challenge. Anyone can bolt up a T-88, and destroy all, but where is the fun in that? $3-6k for a turbo? $2k for a FMIC? $2 a gallon for 91-93 octane gas? Forget it! I have no need for a 70000000hp street death machine! I am so tired of hearing how my n/a is too slow, or will never be fast enough. I love the clallenge of going all internal mods. I know a modded TII will be faster, but a 200hp n/a is no slouch!Sorry to rant, and this is probabally the wrong place for this, but hell, the 1st gen is a n/a, so they have no choce, and the 3rd gen is a turbo, so they have no choice. i thought this would be the best place to rant. Thanks, I feel better now!

Well some of us do need (want) 70000000hp! The only way to do that is with the miracles of forced induction. The turbocharger is the most effective way to add power to an engine, period. NA's are great track cars, cruisers, etc. but I'll be turbo for life!

i think it is more of a challenge and requires a more intimate knowledge of the engine to get good power out of an N/A. yeah i would love to have a TII but i wouldnt trade my N/A for it

Sorry to start a war, but I feel there are a lot of pissed n/a guys ready to speak their peace! I am tired of guys sayin "Swap in a TII engine!" or "Sell your n/a, and get a real car!" Lets keep this clean, no flaming each other, just express both sides of the debate.

Well, Felix, you don't hear n/a guys tell TII guys to sell their shitty cars, and rip off that turbo. It is always the other way around. The oppressed uprise against the oppressor! j/k

How about weight lost from sweating all summer from no AC, or how about hearing lost from running straight exhaust on an NA, or how about races lost from racing sub 14 second cars?

(I'm not a turbo or NA guy, I have both. They both serve their own purpose).

I don't mind NA guys saying their cars are quick, they ARE. Just please don't try to compare it to the Turbo cars, or point out how one is better than the other. You'll get nowhere with that argument.

i have both a modded TII and modded N/A. if you want 300hp out of an n/a it will be a race car...... bridgeport etc. exhaust note that rattles the ground. some people want that, some don't everyone is entitled to an opinion. the only thing that N/A's don't have is torque.... that is the thing i miss the most on my GTU

i am the last person to bash on either one, i help where i can but i made a note of it not too long ago in one of the threads. one of the TII guys was outright bashing on N/A's and it does happen. i do consider myself an N/A guy and i dont care what you say about N/A's being slow. someone out there is waiting to tell all the TII guys how slow they are.

point is, none of us have the fastest cars in the world and frankly you could spend a hell of a lot less money and have a hell of a lot faster car than a TII. we arent on this sight because we are working on the fastest cars known too man, we are here because we own and work on a car that very few people can and very few people could. we have something that is better than speed, horsepower, and torque, we are unique, creative and sometimes genius so why dont we all stop this ridiculous bickering amongst ourselves because this is probably the best car community on the internet because we rarely have the option of going to a local mechanic.

both cars have their good points and both have the bad, but all are rotaries and that is why we are here.

Well said. This speech almost made me cry. You captured the true essence of RX-7 owners.

Hear me my NA brothers!

Beware the TURBO! It is an evil parasite on the pure body of the ROTARY. This evil leech will generate BOOST, which is more addictive than heroin, or cocaine!

Once under the spell of BOOST, all thoughts are focused towards attaining more of this evil pressure. More, and more...the wallet drains, the family and loved ones neglected...all for the sake of more BOOST!

This mad quest for more and more BOOST will go on until the ultimate evil is perpertrated: The breaking of the sacred APEX SEAL. This unholy pressure cracks the perfect APEX SEAL causing DEATH. Yes, DEATH to the ROTARY!

The ROTARY, beautiful in its simplicity, is defiled by the TURBO. The TURBO adds COMPLEXITY and HEAT and yes...POWER!! Ooh, POWER. This is the true evil. POWER blinds the person to all other the other motoring joys of the ROTARY. All is sacrificed for more BOOST and more POWER.

But lo! Do not despair my NA brothers, the TURBO is imperfect. Flawed! The TURBO provides its own methods of destruction: the sly BOOST CREEP and the sharp BOOST SPIKE! They lead to the deadly KNOCK and PING, the twin destroyers of the sacred APEX SEAL. Only DEATH can follow...

Fear not! Our ROTARIES will not befall the foul fate of BOOST. They will live LONG and HAPPY lives in a NATURALLY ASPIRATED paradise, were they will spin and spin and spin....FOREVER.
