Why is my BOV being retarted?

My BOV is not wanting to open at all. i know its got good vac source becuase i unhoook the vac line and it has suciton, and when i put my finger over it the idle kinda drops alittle bit, but when i put it on the nipple on the BOV it doesnt change idle at all.. it worked with my TIMC but not with my FMIC. ? wth..

i know i got some washers with the BOV what are the washers for?

Where did you get it welded into the pipe. If you didnt, there is your problem.

the washers are to adjust spring tension ... less washers means easier open of valvwe .. more washers means harder open .. usualy for higher boost

alright well heres the deal.. i got it to work i think i know what it is doing.. with my TMIC i was gettin like 10PSI and now that i did my front mount i am only getting 6psi.. and i don think the 6 is enough for the spring that is in it right now. .

so my main question is.. why am i only getting 6 PSI with the FMIC and i was getting 10psi with the TMIC.?

I searched about this a little while ago, and someone (was it Hailers?) said to run the vac line to one of the larger nipples on the throttle body. The smaller ones that are used for like the pressure sensor only get vac from one rotor.

i thought you lose pressure with a more efficent setup cause cooler air = more dense= less pressure

no....well you could but you would have many problems if you did that setup and it wouldnt be safe... to do it safely you would have to upgrade the exhaust port the wastegate get a fuel management bigger injectors....i think thats about it besides the boost controller itself....as for your BOV problem..... you can adjust the Tension in the spring...(depending on the kind of BOV) there is a bolt on the top of the BOV...you should be able to adjust it and get a soud from it.......

well i wouldnt be able to tightin the bolt but the BOV did come with washers that i could put underneath the spring to tighten it up.. but i already have an exhaut ( not on yet ) and i still need to port the waste gate, and i got a walbro255 fuel pump. so i would just need bigger injectors then.. what woul be good size injectors?

well from what ive been told you can run 720s on the secondaries and 620 on the main(not sure if the 620 is correct).....you definately want to port the wastegate after you install the exhaust....youll get mad boost creep if its a full turbo back.....im not sure about the BOV....what kind is it

look for air leak and check to see if your turbo is bolted tight onto the turbo manifold. If it's losing seal at the manifold, then the guage will be reading boost and it will spool, but it will spool softer and it won't have anything to blow off.

i got a TurboXS RFL.. im thinking its becuae it is recomended at 10-25psi , and im only running 6, i got it becuae i was running about 10.. now sence the FMIC is on like i said im getting lower boost, but if i really romp on the engine it does open.. but thats only if i push the car hard and make the turbo spool as much as possible. ..

so antoher question is can i cut the spring alittle bit to make it softer so it doesnt take as much boost to get it to open.? or should i wait till i get my turbo back isntalled port the waste gate and then see how much boost im running.? then if it is still doing it then i can get a different spring.?
