How many miles on them? Use a hotter plug.

did those come out of the leading or trailing? id say run a slightly hotter plug. you may need to run the same plug on all 4.

The black material built up on the metalic parts of the plug is not particularly significant as far as air-fuel mixture and proper engine tune goes. What you should concern yourself with is the color of the center insulator. In the top pic, that's the whitish piece visible inside the plug surrounding the center electrode (the red area in the attached image). The color of the center insulator should be a brown or tan after a hard run. That indicates correct air-fuel mixture and efficient burning of the mixture.

In light of that, the plug in the top pic suggests a very lean mixture which can result in excessive internal heating and premature engine failure.
