it shouldnt have like 20 more horsepower. However, engines generally operate better when they are cooler. Maybe your car is running too hot?

20hp is a bit drastic but I suspect it's probably because the intake manifolds and what not aren't heat-soaked.

yes the possibilities are endless, however you should not step on your car until it is properly warmed up! If you drive it too hard until it is properly warmed up you run the risk of shortening your engine life!

I do notice the low end is nice when the engine is cold.

I've never topped it out, but I would assume the increase is across the band.

you could have a sensor that is old and the readings are a bit off from what they should be, since from what you say after it warms up the power loss is noticable, it is also in a closed loop state going off of the O2 sensor readings to adjust the fuel mixture, if your O2 sensor is old you might want to replace it, they should be replaced periodically anyways.

note though, the O2 is NOT the only sensor that adjusts the fuel curve, almost all sensors go into the injection PW modeling process but the O2 sensor is the most common failure component, they can still work but at lowered capacity and lazy readings.

double note, that is IF there is even a problem at all. as stated, almost all engines run better when cold. (why do you think intercoolers were invented? )

Dont rag on your car when the engines cold.

"Kids these days"

p.s goahead rag on her while she's cold, than wonder why you had to spend $1k to get the engine replaced.

everyone is right though, you really shouldn't go more than half throttle until the engine is midly warmed up.
