Whole Differential?
Im rebuilding my 88 rx7 vert and I was wondering if i would be able to use the rear axle and differential from an 85 gsl-se. will it fit? I want to have an axle instead of basically just bars. will this be possible?

When you have too much power going to the rear of the stock differential the chances of it breaking greatly increase. So i would like a solid axle to accommodate for that.

Aaroncake was running 400+ whp on an na rear end. Then he blew it up real good. The turbo drivetrain also swaps into the chassis. Give us an idea of your power goals and application and we can suggest the best route. Your proposed swap is uncommon, at best. As for your question, it would be a lot of work because the 88 doesn't have the same shock or spring mounting locations. So there's a bit of custom work there. And the handling of the 1st gen rear end has a lot of room for improvement.

Yea im aiming for 300 - 350 hp. I have seen a swap using a ford 8.8 axle but that was on a rx7 converted to a v8 and i would probably still have to do a bit of custom work there as well.
