Who Wants Dirt Cheap Spacers For FD Wheels?

Ok, myself and what seems to be like a lot of other people are interested in spacers so we can use FD rims on the FC. I know a guy who bought a machine shop from some guy who had a stroke. He basically bought the whole thing for $18k and it included a manual mill, lathe, rotary table, drill press, grinder, belt sander, a ton of metal to use, a cnc mill, and a whole bunch of other crap. Anyways, he pretty much uses it for motorcycle stuff, and his shop is right next to a motorcycle place, but he said if I gave him a design laid out, he could use his machinery to build anything I wanted.

As I was reading around, I noticed there may be enough people who want spacers that we could get someone to make exact specs on them so we could get them put into production so everyone can buy them for dirt cheap but good quality. If anyone has the know-how to lay out the exact specs of a good set of spacers that would work for putting FD rims on FC's, I could sell them to forum members for dirt cheap.

If anyone knows how, please post here or pm me with info and we can get started asap.

Oh, and if theres anything else there would be high demand for to be made for 7 owners, let me know, maybe we can make a few products.

If you find the specs on hubcentric spacers, then they will be hubcentric spacers, lol. I showed him pics of what I was talking about, and i'm waiting for him to get back to me on the price, but the machining part will be free, so basically its paying for metal parts. There will only be a little bit extra for shipping and if we end up making a lot of them, we might add on a few bucks for the hassle, but they will still be dirt cheap compared to the really expensive things you see all the time.

If its the same general specs besides the thickness, then I should be able to make variable sizes. I'll let you know once he gives me a price range.

It shouldn't be too hard. Just find out Circumfrance of the hub of the rotor for fd rims I think it's a .25'' offset, and then cruise the FSM for the spacing of the lugs.

The FC community is cheap, so I doubt it.

Well since i'm pretty much just going to be charging for the metal scraps and shipping, it should be cheap, hence you would think they might be interested, but apparently not.

I think you need to throw out a ballpark figure.

just make them for yourself and keep it at that, you will fail at selling them, because people NEVER come through with thier "i will buy that for sure" comments...

90% of the FC owners are either flakes or cheap bastids...

Well since they take hardly any time to produce once we get the specs, its not like a new carbon fiber hood where they need everyone to say they will buy them then wait until they are produced. Its more like, ok, give me the money and they will be made and shipped to you the same day.

I would say go ahead and make a set and then just hold them, let everyone know that you have them, and they're for sale. Then just keep a thread posted about them. Honestly the deal this guy is going to be giving you is incredible. I've made spacers for our kart, and I know how much they cost. Anyone who needs a set, would be better off buying from here. Good luck man.

Yeah, you could do what I did on my blue indicator logicons, and build a couple anyway and if you sell out of them, build a couple more.

I have yet to sell a single blue indicator Logicon, but the red indicators Logicons are selling like hot cakes this month.

But as far as the spacers... If you have figure out how much you are going to sell them from, maybe I'll buy a couple and put them on my website to see if they will sell there.

Well my main goal was to just make them for myself, and I thought since I have access to stuff that usually costs a lot ot operate, I figured I would help some other guys out in the process. I'm still stuck not knowing any of the specs, whether I make them for myself, or anyone else, I still need specs to make them in the first place, lol

I have posted this numerous times but a friend of mine has bought fc to fd hubcentric spacers. adapters can also be had for cheap. call up rush motorsports at (619) 337-2979 and order them instead of putting alot of time into making them. they were very cheap if I recall.
