Don't fix what isn't broken. There's no moint in upgrading it if it's not a problem.

A bunch of guys run dual stock coolers on race FC's, but for the street the stock one is more than enough.

You can run them either in parallel or in series, but parallel is better.

LIke Black said, if it aint borke dont mess with it. However i fyou can getting high oil temps you adding a second one would be a good idea. That being said you dont know if you are having high oil temps unless you have a temp guage for the oil...

One other benefit of running a second cooler though is the increased oil capacity. you have to fill the cooler too, so having more oil in the system means you can run longer between oil changes and the system as a whole will stay cooler. (able to absorb a larger load of energy)

I wouldn't do that if it were me. Its not the oil capacity as much as the oil filter. No matter how much oil you have, the oil filter still lasts the same.

Also, what should oil temps be, anyway?

Doesnt the oil cooler only cool bypassed oil? Or is that just my silly assumption.

Either way if you push your car enough i'd say go for it, just keep regular stock lines except have the exit of the first one go into the entrance of the second one, a hydraulic shop should be able to make the line for cheap (contrary to everyone else and there mother wanting to use $6000 worth of AN fittings to do everything) and then you can make your own brackets. A paralell setup would be a little different but if done right you could still use stock lines.

not a particularly useful mod on an FC. It's only FD's with their pitiful stock oil coolers (probably less than half the size of the oil cooler on my n/a) that benefit greatly from the dual oil cooler setup, whether it is the stock R1 setup or some kind of aftermarket thing.

Like everyone else has said, don't go "fixing" non-existent problems. Even high-hp street cars do fine with the stock oil cooler. The race track is the only place you'll find its limits.

what i'd like to know is if there's a significant difference when upgrading the oil cooling system (would this allow me to be able to push the car for longer periods of time?)...
There will be no difference, except maybe overcooling of the oil and a lightening of your wallet. If the oil cooling system is big enough for the engine's power (and it almost definitely is), then it should keep a steady oil temp whether you hold full power for one minute or one hour.

i think dual oil coolers make for some real nice, under-the-hood eye candy, don't ya think?
No, since you won't be able to see either of them. Can you see your existing oil cooler when you lift the bonnet?

Not really sure what you mean, but the oil cooler is inline with the oil pump and oil filter. All oil passes through it.

I have dual oil coolers on the RXX-7, because we needed more clean air up the middle for the intercooler. It's an entirely custom setup, though. Look at the link named "And Finally" on my website:

The third and fourth pictures from the top show a little of the set-up.

i am looking at going for twin FD oil coolers on my TII as i am putting complete FD oil system on my new engine (as per other thread) but some people have 'no no'd' this idea.

My oil temps are fine on track but i am hoping for another 100 bhp (currently 350 rwhp) so more cooling can only be better
