WHo has a v8 stuffed in there 7??
Ok guys before you go and flame me listen up,
i Have an idea "lightbulb"
Ok your rotary blows and you don;t want to get a rebuilt one because they will last for maybe 2 years before you need a new one, so your other choice is putting in a v8.
But you don;t wanna mess up your weight destribution!
before i go on im gonna need a few facts, how much does the rotary motor with tranny weigh?
i was just thiking of putting a aluminum v8 into it. and hey more power, and less money in the long run.
so if anyone here has a v8 rx7, post some pics,
my uncle just got a gold colored 7 with a racing engine in it, ill get some pics of that/

V8 in the car, yeech. I don't see how anyone can drink that stuff, vegetables squeezed for thier juice and put in a can (or bottle) thats just plain nasty, I recommend not putting any V8 in your car, if you spill it, you will never get that smell out.
so lets go over this again, V8 = bad
go get a real beverage!
this is what happens when you drink V8

I met that guy (Orlando_87GN on the GN forum) tonight and we talked about his project. Basically he's swapping in a GN turbo V6. I'm no fan of piston engines in RX's but his car was just a ratty old SE so I don't really mind... It will be interesting to see how it turns out.

thanks dudes...
although you do have to admit that haveing an aluminum vette engine putting 405hp out would be wicked, in a rx7 of course
it weights maybe 50-100pounds more than the rotary and goes like ****.
its a good idea, and i might try it,

i talked to those guys on the Turbo Buick forum, You can e-mail mark.corbett@qwest.com
I don't think he would mind since he e-mailed me to help answer any questions when i posted on the turbo buick forums. Nice guy, knows his stuff as far as what is needed for each engine and how much.
his car is the one from http://www.v8rx7.com/mark.htm

What is "wicked" about a AL vette engine? Install a ported 13B with a T04 and you can have 400+rwhp. I guarantee it would cost less than an AL vette engine putting out 400+ rwhp. Who said rotary engines die after 2 years? Funny how my 91 vert still has the original engine...gee, that's 10 years!
I can appreciate the hard work that must go into destroying the car that I have spent so much time helping others fix, but I think it would be best appreciated in the "others" section since no RX-7 ever came with a ****-ton engine.
Next rotary questions please....

yeah, but see, with a ported turbo engine, it wouldn't even last half as long as a V8... with a V8, you have the DEFINITE torque advantage, and the engine longevity. But, if you're wanting a 350, then why don't you just take the 350 block, and make it into a 383 stroker. Then, you would be putting out well over 500 torque and 475hp easily...a friend of mine built one. It's a VERY well hung beast, and it REALLY sounds awesome when he runs it with open headers. Anyway, those are my two cents. More power to ya buddy...I would do it if I had the cash, but then again...I would have to think about the possiblities of a turbo rotary that was well modded if I had the cash.

Hell, if you're really serious, maybe we can work out a trade...but I'd need some cash too, as my motor puts out considerably more than 400 puny horsies!
of course, it doesn't corner as well...

guy was telling me either GN turbo 6, or LT1. No 5.0's or anything else. Cause these where tried and true.

Personally I have loved the LS1 ever since I had the chance to drive a C5 Vette. Nothing like having enough low end power to cruise around the neighborhood in 5th gear @ ~500 RPMs :-) Also the other cool thing with the Vette was that you could take it up to about 55mph in 1st gear.
Take care,

fc3s.org ....
hey fc3s.org
either you didn;t read my post well, or i was unclear but i said that a rebuilt rotary engine lasts for maybe 2 years.....alot of shops don;t know how to build them right, the engines will never be up to the standard that the original engine was
rebuilt- 2years tops, maybe little more, or less
original engine- 10+ if you take care of it/.
and $8600 for a Ls1? hahah, nope,
i would be taking out the motor out of a camaro/vette, that had been in an accident but no motor trans damage.
