Question who has the nitty gritty on the 87 Turbo?

Im about to buy a 87 turbo. Im kind of concerned because of its age but the guy has a new eng and clutch installed, and it also passed noVA emissions and inspection. I need to drive this car to work every day, so if any of you know about 87 turbo problems or warnings just let me know so i dont end up putting more money into it just to keep it running.

thanks

TII's are fine in stock form, if the engine is new and it runs smoothly and idles fine, its probably good ta go.

Take it out and get on it... look for hesitation around 3.5K RPM, look for smoke on shifting and at high RPM.

let it get good and warm, then take it back, park it and make sure it still idles OK and then shut it off. Try to start it again in about 5-10 minutes. Make sure it starts right up.

HOWEVER...... If you plan on daily driving that car.. you'd be best to not do to many mods to it, you can get 'em scary fast, but the reliability can get really iffy!!

If you buy it,, make sure you change that oil about every 2K miles or so.. and change the anti freeze once a year.. dirty oil and bad coolant are like kryptonite to a rotary!!
