Who Has a FMIC with A/C and P/S?

I am putting the finishing touches on the S4 N/A to S5 TII swap. This is going to be my daily driver and I like the idea of it being a bit of a sleeper.

I want to keep the P/S and A/C and mount the intercooler somewhere with airflow. Do you guys have some pics of intercoolers mounted without removing the P/S and A/C?

I would just throw on a turbo hood if I could find one, but the closest one I have found is 8 hours away and it's a different color and the seller has dropped off the planet. Also, I don't think the phone dial rims and turbo hood would go so well together.

Let me also mention that I am on a tight budget with this project so no suggestions of "Make that thing a 5-bolt and put some rims on it". Believe me, if I had the cash I would do a lot of things . I am not trying to make huge power (for now), I just want something with more go than the N/A, but driving around with the N/A hood and stock TMIC doesn't sound like a good idea.

Any pics or suggestions are appreciated.

Do you have some pics of the setup installed? Does it require cutting the rad supports and some of the reinforcement of the bumper?

You could always get reative and use a smic from some other car and but it where the brake vents ducts are and cut slots in the fender well.

Hai-Tek - That is really tight, but nicely done.

Kevin - you suck...that is a clean engine bay. Looks great under there.

TehMonkay - Yeah, I'm not looking to support more than 250 fwp so I think something like that might be a good idea. I don't want to cut up too much as it is a daily driver. Something easy would be nice. Has anyone ever seen someone put an intercooler between the rad/fan and engine and scoop some air into it from underneath the car? I don't even know if that would work, or if it would wreck airflow for the car, but it might not require cutting and would be less in piping.

sounds like you want a V or H mount intercooler. But getting ducting set up is a nightmare.

You dont really need an FMIC for that power level. Just run a little water injection on the stock TMIC...less volume, faster response, better cooling than stock.

The only problem is that I can't get my hands on a turbo hood and I was hoping to keep the stock N/A look. However, are you saying that I could do water injection without the turbo hood? I guess if I had to, I could have a body shop make some sort of custom hood scoop.

oh, well no, in that case. I would want some air to be fed to the stock TMIC, and aftermarket hood scoops always look gay on rx7s.

Kevin, you make me want the HKS FMIC from that picture.

Can you make it look that amazing for me? By the way, where is your airfilter/AFM?

In that pic the filter wasn't fitted yet, but the afm is where it normally sits, and my filter is on the afm now. I will be going gt35r within a week or 2 so it'll all be rearranged.

Yes I can powdercoat the intercooler and piping to look that nice for you.

here is mine. Had to notch shock tower and weld in 1/2 a 4.5 inch pipe to clear ps for 2.5 in. intercooler piping.
