Where's the starter relay at??

It's on the starter itself.
IIRC (I'm sure someone will splash a copy of the wiring diagram from the FSM), the circuit goes from the ignition key straight to the starter solenoid located on the side of the starter motor itself.
There might be "interrupt" relays from (stock) security systems.

^^^ yep. it's the little dude on the starter.
I have an Autolite starter that stop working for me for some reason, had it tested and there's nothing wrong with it, just the car didn't like it. it prefered OEM.

"Starter cut relay", its on the left fender by the clutch master cylinder, it actually has a jumper wire attached to it, the starter solonoid is on the starter itself it contains the plunger coil system that jumps the pinion out to catch the flywheel. It looks like a big gold box right next to the coil packs. I have an 87 base too, 1st check all the wires esp. the batt. cables, then check batt. voltage, if all else fails let me know.
