oh, its an s5.

 

Battery ground goes from the battery, to the chassis left fender area then to the starters outboard attach bolt.

It's pretty straightforward to see the setup in the car from this diagram (just follow the big wires from the batt)

Do you mean the starter kill relay???

On the drivers side near the clutch master, bolted to the sidewall.

 

Starter kill relay??????? They forgot to put that on my schematics. You got one that shows the *starter kill relay*?

 

Pardon my ignorance. The cars with theft protection do have one. The cars without have a jumper to replace the relay. Mines next to the trail coil assy

 

So, does your car have theft protection or not?

 

only 86's don't have the wiring for security

 

That was a 87 schematic I attached. I shoulda said something about that.......but I did just now look at the 89 electrical and it has a starter cut relay also.

If the car did not come with theft protection, the relay won't be there, but in its place will be a jumper in the harness where the relay would have been. Usually blue in color. A great place to install a remote start switch for maintanence.

It's a slow day, what more can I say.

 

my car does have the security system in it but i never use it. i have an aftermarket alarm.
