That wire is right in the way of their hands when they would be messing around with the slave cylinder. Chances are they either damaged the wire or just disconnected it from the sender. It's a "clip on" type wire and it is right under the oil filter.

ok i thought thats the one that it was, but it is connected but the gauge still isnt working, there is oil all over the sender and the clip you think that may be the prob, or is there a fuse that might have blow, or something....

The clip must be clean and secure or you'll get bad readings. If the other gauges are working then it's not a fuse. It'll be a problem with the gauge itself.

No, you must use the sender designed for (and usually supplied with) your gauge.

if the gauge was pegged and now it dosent work what does that mean, could it do this because the the connection itnt clean, or because the sender is bad? or a short circut?/?
i dont feel secure without the pressure sensor...

If you ground the sender wire (i.e. it falls off the sender and touches the engine or chassis) it will peg the gauge at the top. I'd guess that if you left it like that for long it would fry the gauge and it would no longer work.

I don't want to highjack your thread, but I will have a similar problem on my 13B-RE. I don't remember to have seen an oil pressure sender on it ? Somebody knows where it is ?

Thanks

All Mazda rotaries use the same location. See the pic above.

If I were you I wouldn't bother trying to make it work. Just go buy a proper aftermarket oil pressure gauge.

Make your own. Buy a block of aluminum one inch thick. Cut it two inches wide and three inches long. Drill holes in it to match the oil filter pedestal. Then drill and tap a hole to intersect the oil filter feed hole and install your favorite aftermarket sender unit.

Buy gasket material from Pepboys for a buck fifty and make gaskets to fit. Done. In fact done did that myself for two engines. I like the words done did following one another.

You should be able to make five or six units for the price of a RB unit. Maybe more.

Don't know of a place to buy metal in small quantities? Go online and you'll find several hits.

ok i think its the gauge itself cause the wire going to the oil pressure sender has 12 volts going to it and i also tested the sender itself and it is operating fine, is there anyway to replace or fix the gauge?or is there anything else i should check, i dont want to get an aftermarket one cause i think it looks bad to have non functional gauges in the dash....

An aftermarket gauge provides a far more accurate reading. The stock gauge has practically no scale so you can only guess at what its reading really is. This is far more important than a non-functional gauge.
