air, fuel, oil filters must be changed, oil, coolant, should be changed. check brake and clutch fluids. check spark plugs and wires. check turbo for play, as well as any other leaks or malfunctioning systems. i'm not trying to say your car is in shitty condition but you catch my drift. it is hard to buy new performance parts or whatever when you get pulled over from the cops for having a taillight bulb burned out or u get a ticket for something completely preventable....

Yeah.....

Aaron 500 to the wheels is not too easy. I hope you sell drugs ecause not many peeps our age make that kind of money.

350-500 sounds like a wide range to me bro. I would say buy an N/a for a daily driver if your going that far into the thirst for power. It WILL break eventually leaving you with an expensive garden statue.

Simply put bro you can drive anything you want daily. BUT how long will it last is the real question. Talk to some guys that are running that much HP and ask how much their repair bill is for say...a year. Probably high.

There is nothing wrong with having an N/a Aaron it won't make chicks not like you(cept for the gold diggin skank ****** )

What must be done before taking performance to another level such as upgrading the turbo and so on?

First you should look at reliability mods, then start looking at power. Mind you some of the reliability mods give you some power.

1) Check your compression, if its a little low try the ATF trick or H20 trick. Some people like them and some don't, its your choice.
2) Tune Up, New Fuel Filter, Oil Change, Coolant Change, New Plugs, Wires, etc...
3) New Radiator, you wanna keep the rotary nice and cool. Also look into new coolant hoses if yours are cracking. Also look into an E-Fan
4) Inspect Vacuum Hoses for any leaks, brittleness, etc.. replace any that may cause a problem soon.
5) Clean out your intercooler with some gas, or look into a FMIC. I understand the FMIC's make your radiator less efficient, so having a good one helps.

I have probably missed a few things so someone can correct me.

Now your motor is gonna stay pretty cool, but the turbo is new problem. I dont know how much of a problem it is on the FC's but I know on FD's the exhaust is a huge heat gainer because the cat holds back a lot of heat. Look into a new high flow exhaust setup.

Also look into replacing your air filter with new drop in unit or a cone filter with a cold air box.

With those two mods you will gain a lot of power, but probably wont be able to use it because you will hit fuel cut. Look into a Walboro fuel pump and an FCD or corksport ECU.... even better a standalone.

Also make sure you have all the appropriate gauges to watch on the vitals of your motor.

Hope this helps.

I didn't notice a drop in temperature until my endtanks seperated from my rad core (stock plastic ones). with the front mount. if you mount it perpendicular to the airflow there shouldn't be a devrease in the flow going to your radiator. however if it is angled, then there will be a slight decrease. I have a buddy who mounted his at a 20 degree angle to the relative air flow and he started to see his temps rise a bit. However mine is perpindicular to the relative air flow and it seems to work just fine.
IMHO it also depends on the FMIC you have.
