MAP sensor is the technical name for what is sometimes misleadingly called a boost sensor (it measures vacuum too). MAP stands for manifold absolute pressure. While the airflow meter is used as the primary engine load sensor for fuel calcs, the MAP sensor is also used by the ECU for load info.
The MAP sensor is mounted on the front side of the right strut tower. The vacuum switch refered to above is only fitted to auto, and is mounted next to the MAP sensor. It's used to operate the torque convertor lock-up.
