Where to find a 12v cigarette lighter/auxiliary outlet?

In place of my cigarette lighter is the power antenna switch in my FC and since I only hook up my ipod to my sound system, I have no need for the antenna switch. Where can I buy a 12v outlet?

Just about anyone that carries auto parts should carry a 12V outlet. The ones from Waytek wire will also work fine and are rated to 20 Amps.

why do you need the antenna switch anyhow?
even 15 year old aftermarket stereos only operate the antenna when the radio is selected

Probably for the same reason I had one; to manually raise and lower the antenna on a stereo that doesn't have a secondary antenna trigger lead. Most aftermarket radios only have a +12V turn-on lead that can be on only when you're using the radio, but if you are using an external amp, you have to leave the lead on all the time.

I cant say I have ever come across a radio with 12V turn out lead and no antenna lead.
I think some people use a switch because the antenna trigger in a FC is negative not a positive and they do not install the relay to get it to operate properly.

It happens...

I installed a clarion head unit in my Wife's Celica vert that has only one turn-on wire. It's labelled amp/antenna. So the antenna is up even when using CD or Aux input. She doesn't care and the wind whistle in the antenna doesn't bother her.

It's a low end model, 4-5 years old.

Put the cigarette lighter back in and wire your antenna up with a relay. Run a negative to the coil and hook the antenna(Usually blue) wire from your radio up to the positive side of the coil.

Then hook thenormally open contact to ground on one side and the OEM radio lead on the other.

Well I dont listen to the radio so i have no use for the switch so can I just tape up the antenna wires and leave the antenna disconnected so it'll be down all the time? The switch was in their from the previous owner.

I got my 4 slot auxiliary outlet off of EBay. Pretty cheap actually. Mounted it to the trans tunnel passenger side.
