For a t2 tranny there should be an upper drain plug and a lower drain plug. Remove the upper then lower. When it's done draining, install the lower drain plug, then fill from the upper drain plug until it almost pours out.
Rear diff its somewhere on the sides, haven't done it personally, not hard to find.

If you look at the tranny from the driver side of the car you can't miss the two bolts. Just be careful because it comes out fast. The last thing you want is to smell like gear oil, trust me.

Respecognize!
the differential is about the same. There are two bolts, an upper and lower. They are 23mm i believe. Top is for filling and level check (fluid should just come up to the lip of the top bolt where fluid starts to drizzle out). The bottom will open the 90w oil flood gates.

The diff I would have atleast 2 quarts. The Tranny 2 quarts as well. I probably used about a quart and a half in my diff and closer to 2 in my tranny but its good to have extra. I know that the FSM lists how much at the top of the 2nd gen page.

This whole thread could have been avoided by looking in an owner's manual, repair manual, or Getting Under the Car.
It probably take less time to look for yourself than type up a new thread and post on here.

All of this information, every bit of it, can be found in three common places:
1. Factory Service Manual. Download your free copy from the FAQ.
2. Vehicle owners manual.
3. Haynes repair manual.
Items #1 and #3 are essential if you plan on doing any work on the car and are MUST HAVES.
Item #2 often goes missing and as far as technical info goes, is superseded by 1 and 3.
