Where does this wire go on the ECU plug?
I have a S4 TII Harness and this plug (3A) comes out of the plug about an inch and it goes no where.
There aren't any other loose wires in the harness either.
Anyone know where that ground is supposed to go?
Or should I just ground it to the chassis?

You could attach a ring connector to the grounds and attach it to a 10mm bolt somewhere near the ECU. I re-did all my grounds at the ECU and attched to a 10mm bolt. Don't bother trying to trace where it goes. You'll have better grounding this way.
All the grounds split somewhere in the engine harness.
The 3A harness ground is very important since it's for the resistors and injectors.
Also, get rid of the "quick connect" and solder/heat shrink the wires.

I need to know if 3A goes anywhere
There aren't any loose wires on the harness to I can only guess it went to an immediate ground from the ECU.
I'm slowly fixing everything on the harness.
The Boost sensor plugs are terrible.
I just cut and lengthened the knock sensor wires and soldered and shrink tubed it so I can mount it next to the ECU for easy install.

As everyone knows, 3A's final destination is the ground ring connector on top of the engine, fastened with a 10mm size bolt to the housing.
From the ECU, it was originally spliced about a foot or less from the ECU plug, into the harness with another black ground wire. You have to unwrapp the harness back from the ECU plug to find the mecahnical splice. Somehow I think yours might be missing for obvious (to me ) reasons. But go look for it. It might be there. Might not also.
For what it's worth.....its final destination is called ground point 24.

Thanks.
It's not obvious to me because I've never done a TII swap or looked at the harnes before.
Where on the engine is it located? Driver or pass rear side?etc?
So far I have pulled the wrapping off to the grommet and didn't find a loose/left over wire.

Ground point 24 is located two inches left of centerline, on the rear rotor housing.
The wire from pin 3A, goes to a splice in the harness about six to eight inches from the plug. It's inside the wrapping around the harness along with the other wires. Last time I looked, it was spliced in with the shield for the 02 sensors wire. I'm fairly sure about that last sentence. Not 100percent. That's on a series four, like yours.

Hmm I'll have to pull more wrapping off and see if anything looks wrong.
If not them I'll have to pull my NA harness out and put them next to each other and compare.

Here's some splices in the same area of the harness. A couple of reference voltage wires spliced together by a little 6 year old Korean girl (Mazda outsources their harnesses). One has the wrapping off, the other does not. These things are rampant/numerous in the harness. Some days the little North Korean girl was real tired and did not crimp as well as she normally would. You now have that harness in your car. The little North Korean girl escaped to the north and now makes Nikes in China.

Funny this should come up actually as I was just outside redoing all the crimps on my harness before I put it back in... They were nearly all falling appart at the crimp..

OK I just checked the harness.
There is a 2R ground which Y's off to the plugs.
One is cut and the other of the Y is fine.
It looks like the 3A connects and splices together with 2R.
