Where does this line go?
Where does this line go?
Rotor newbie here
The car is 88 T2
I was trying to fix my intake to make it fit better on the turbo and this line popped off from someplace and I can't figure out where.
Some changes I noticed:
The boost gauge on there would normally sit around -15 - -20 at idle, and it would not boost to more than 6 psi. Now with this line off from whereever its supposed to be its idleing at -8 and i saw it creep past 7psi.
I just got this car and am trying to fix all the things messed up about it but since alot of it isnt stock I can't figure it out.

Where is the other end connected to? If in doubt, let if go and see where it points, then look for a place it looks like it would go.
Edit: Does it look like there was any liquid in it? If not, its probably a vac line. Did you notice you idle change at all?

it goes from the intake hose into a valve of some kind near where our hand is look for a little well nipple looking thing that it should plug into...look under the alternator and around there
if the other end of that line is going to the turbo inlet duct like it looks like it is in the pic then it goes to the metal npple that runs right next to the oil feed line for the turbo look for a metal vac line nipple rght behind the water fill neck near your bov

If you have a haynes manual (or just look up the online FSM) look at the diagram in the fuel and emmissions sections. It should have most of the lines listed in there, maybe you can figure it out from that.
I tried that. I can only think of 2 places from there that it could be.

If you look at 4B outline and 4B5 it looks like stock theres only 2 hoses from the intake pipe, 1 for the BOV and one to the "Check Valve (One-Way)" Since I know my bov works, and theres only one hose coming off the intake pipe to the engine, I'm assuming its the check valve one.
Thats all I could really deduct from the FSM's.
Thanks for everyones ongoing help. I hope to get this resolved friday when I put my block off plates on and simplify some things.
