Where did you find a 12v connection for your...
well i'm almost done installing my boost controller but i can't seem to find a 12v ignition. i've been told to use the wires from the ignition but which ones are they? also, are there any others that i can use?
btw, i've got a Blitz DSBC Spec-S.
i've got the thing 100% installed other then the power and ground wire and would like to have this thing all set up before Saturday. thanks for any help.

(on an 86-88) if it's just the same 12v the igniter/ coils see from the main relay you want, use any of the black/ yellow wires (colors might be different on S5's, not sure), should be 2 at the trailing coils, and one at the leading...

i didn't understand that, lemme know if i got this right. there's a yellow and black wire at the coils that can be used as the power and ground wires? sorry for being a little slow.
oh yeah and i've got a S5 for anyone who doesn't look at my sig.

I know you got an S5- thought you wanted the same power circuit the coils see, but now I see you just want a power wire that's juiced with the ignition switch...Basically any thing on the bottom 2/3 of the cabin fuse box has power from the ignition switch- take your pick- cig lighter is powered by the Accessory position- not the ignition positions...

Wayne, that comment about my sig wasn't directed at you. i know you looked and saw my sig but other people might not think to look there.
i'm thinking of splicing off the power and ground wires for the CD player. that way it'll be on whenever the CD player is (which is always).

If you need to run a new one, buy a bosch relay, fuse holder and fuse, wire, adn some spade connectors. The relay switch comes off the first ( trailing IIRC) coil pack, I believe its either a brown or green wire. Then you've got an isolated circuit for your fuel comp.

A relay just isolates the circuit. The relay switches power on/off to a circuit (since we're switcing it by the coil packs, its ignition switched.) Then you run a wire from the battery to the relay, and a wire from the relay to the fuel comp

Doh, earlier tonight when talking with you(Ryu) on AIM, I might've been some more help.. Saw someone say yellow was 12v.. And it hits me, "BAM, yellow wires are 12v, red are 5v.. black ground...." 3 colors I remember pretty well.... All because a stupid way to remember those 2 voltages and their colors a teacher told me* a while back heheh.... Blah, forgetful me hehe... I could've at least given a color earlier...
But yes.. That cd player was on the whole night I rode with you as I remember, heh heh...
*Ah yes, and time for what may be humorous? This was a high school teacher in a computer fixing tech class.... And he said something like red means "stop" for the 5 year old, who is too young to ride the school bus.... And yellow is the color of the bus for the 12 year old who can get on... Heh heh.... Said he couldn't think of an easier way to remember it....

Usually there are several plugs under the dash that are not being used if you do not have all the bells and whistles on your car. An example is...say you don't have power mirrors or power windows. Usually there are empty plugs near the front of the door opening. So you can turn the key to ON and probe each socket on the empty plug to see which has 12v. Use that one. It's probably best to find out just what plug you are messing with before connecting it to the new device. As in seeing what amperage fuse is being used by that wire.
The same applies to under the hood. Near the strut tower you might find empty plugs that were intended for people who have that active suspension....but don't on their cars.
