When idiots attack, location: emission station
2 days after I got my Bonez cat put in, i decided it is time to get my emission done since it will be due in about 8 days in this great my *** state of Connecticut. Here in Connecticut, we have these stations that have dynos that do 25mph tests on you. Here is what happened.
I pulled in there like usual, the guy that works in the lane took over. After an unusual 3 min wait, that older dude ended up got like 7 or 8 younger guys around my car checking and running it. To make a long story short, after they start it a few times, play with the lights and stuff. They pulled the car onto the roller. Here is the strange part, I saw them pull my car onto the roller with the front wheels. I am like hmm wtf? I didnt say anything at first, then they started putting wheel chokes on my back wheels. I am like wtf. In CT, we sit behind these glass windows while they do the test in front of you. I started knocking on the window, no respond because they didnt hear me. Then I really had to start banging on it when they were about to leave and start. Finally I caught their attention and they switched it. Lucky i said soemthing, else I can smell a lawsuit coming....
After it was all set and done, they handed the keys back to me. Before I leave, these 2 guys that work there were giving me the grinch smile. They were like "burn it", I just smiled and pulled up to the stop sign on the street. And gave a pretty hard sideway take off for them to see. I think this is the first time they have seen something other than trucks in their life (its real redneck in this area). Although they almost screwed up, but I have toa dmit those are nice guys. But it was just funny when they told me to burn it inside an emission station hahaha
Anyway here is my result
2/28/02
158839 miles
MAX ALLOW TESTED
HC 168.0 22.5
CO 1.08 0.0
NO 1208.0 28.7
My car is a 90 NA stock, just have a new bonez cat, new RB cat back and a cut intake box
2 years ago i did this
3/7/00
76500 miles
MAX ALLOW TESTED
HC 168.0 21.2
CO 1.08 0. 2
NO 1208.0 84.5
What's my take on how to keep your car running good and reliable? Change your oil often and take good care of it

I live in syracuse ny and it went to get the oil done, i had to tell them what kinda car and type, they couldnt find the oil cap and dip stick, at that moment i didnt wanna get my oil done, i just dont trust juffy lube anymore. Another thing that made me think was they told me i had a big oil leak, i told them ive had my car in the same spot in my driveway for about 6 months and there is no oil on the ground. is it possible to have a oil leak that dosnt leak out od the car?

Stepdaddy, I think all FC leak a little oil and tranny fluid. If it doesnt drip, dont worry about it. Many things leak on these cars. You have to see my underbody. It's coated with oil. My speedo seal leaks, my rear tranny seal leaks, my front seal leaks, my oil cooler line leaks, my oil pan gasket leaks, yet guess what. It still runs and it stops leaking whenever it wants to.....

I took my FC3S to the emissions place here in Ohio today. We also do the 25 mph dyno here. My results were HC 0.0, NO 0.0, NO2 0.0. Somehow I don't think this is possible with any internal combustion engine adn especially not mine given the fact that I have no precat, a gutted cat, no egr, no bac, no air pump, no omp and running pre-mix a little heavy on the oil. Go figure.

Since I have made NUMEROUS trips to the emissions station, I have had the pleasure of explaining quite a few things to the fine individuals they employ....
1. I dont have pistons.
2. I dont care what your dumbass computer says, its NOT a 2 cylinder car
3. You cant just check my idle on any old plug wire you see fit...only the LOWER ones.
4. For the LOVE OF GOD, ITS NOT FRONT WHEEL DRIVE!!!!! (I actually got into a pissing match over this one)
Man..Youd think that these cars were from another planet....

at my place you drive it onto the wheels yourself. the last time I was there, I drove over the wheels with my front tires and the guy started waving and said "no no" or something. then I got my rear ones on and stoped. he he gave a funny look and went "oh"

some states... try some citys, up here only Vancouver area has it in BC. if I lived an hour in any direction I wouldn't have it. so cars that live there are always driving in vancouver anyways...
but on the other hand it's easy to get someone's address from outside and use that to reg so no emmsions. they are crackign down on that though. I haven't gone since I added the exhaust. next year might be fun...

Here in Cincinnati, the emissions people are ******* morons. When I took my TII in to get the emissions checked for plates, I rolled up and the two workers in the lane I pulled into started FIGHTING over who got to drive my car on the rollers (I started cringing at this moment). When the roller test was over and the pulled the car to the back of the station for the gas-cap pressure test, I noticed the rear end of my car jack up in the air...weird. Well, those ******* morons couldn't figure out how to turn my car off due to the turbo-timer and stalled the engine out by pulling the E-brake up and stalling the engine out in 1st Gear. ******* tools...

Here in Greece we have this test that every car older than 5 years has to pass (and then every 5 years). Its called Vehicle Capability or something, and they are supposed to test a number of things on your car...
Anyway, the very same week I bought my Rex I got a ticket for not having passed that test (******* idiots cops, I explained to them that I had just gotten the Rex, and even showed them the receipt ), so next week I arranged for this test.
To make a long story short, I go over the emissions machine, everything's cool (I knew that, because two days ago I had taken the Rex for a tune-up and had already gotten my emissions card). Then I move on to the brakes cylinder, and as I start to go over with the front wheels, the guy just stares like WTF ? When I settle my rears onto the cylinders, then it hit him (yeah, in the HEAD ). All's cool in the brakes cylinders, so they then check my exhaust (which had a small hole), and then we proceed to the engine check-up. The guy asks me to pop my hood, looks in the engine bay FOR 2 SECONDS , and then goes like "uhm, OK, you can go now". Power of the Rotary TO THE MAX
