When I really lay on the gas and the turbo kicks all the way in, the boost gauge goes almost to the 40+ mark. Is this normal? Is the gauge only made to read the limits of the TII turbo or does it measure higher PSI that the turbo shouldn't be producing.
I just dont want to put any extra wear on the engine or turbo.
Also if I have a lot of oil on the intercooler-to-turbo piping, does that mean there is a leak somewhere?
Thanks for the help. -Evan

Excessive oil usually means the turbo seals are going. Are you going off the stock gauge? That thing isn't very accurate and does some crazy ****. I'd suggest getting an aftermarket gauge
"40" on the gauge is 400mmHg or 7.7psi, which is only a little higher than stock and nothing to worry about. But that gauge really shouldn't be relied upon, and an aftermarket boost gauge is the first thing you should buy if you intend to do any mods.
When you say "a lot of oil" in your pipes, do you mean a thin layer covering the insides (normal) or big droplets (not good)?

Is your car stock? You should defenetly get an aftermarket boost gauge as well as consider getting aftermarket temp and a/f gauges. The stock gauges are pretty bad, upgrading to new gauges will allow you to monitor your engine much better. As far as the boost, if your car is stock its totally fine to boost to the 40 mark, remeber while your car remains stock the engine is desigened to boost to these levels, so i really wouldent worry about it, not to mention its an rx7 and you have pretty much your whole rpm range to play with
